Well I survived

Well I got through my first week of summer school without a hitch. I am in a preschool classroom for SPED summer school. We have a AM and PM group and we have decided that the PM group is by far the less hectic. There are 10 kids in the AM class, many of whom are nonverbal and in diapers which can make for a chaotic morning. There are 7 kids in the PM group all of who are verbal and potty trained which makes things a little easier. I am not sure if SPED preschool would ever be my calling but it has been a neat learning experience. It will be god to experience a different age group before school starts. The silver lining is, although these kids require more work do to physical as well as mental disabilities, no one can threaten to kill me or cuss me out when they get upset like our kids do. Summer school is only three days a week so I will have 4 day weekends until the end of July and then a nice break between summer school and regular school starting.
I am still waiting to hear on my acceptance for school. It turns out when I checked on the status of my application last week, that there were a few things that I had forgotten to do which was holding up processing, such as having official transcripts sent. That's kind of a big deal. So I spent last Friday running around getting it all taken care of and now the process should be quicker. I am going to email this weekend to make sure everything is as it should be so I can start the registration and financial aid process.
We have had a mix of 80 degree days and cloudy rainy days (like today) and I am hoping for a sun break again soon. So far this summer has already been better than last summer weather-wise but its only the beginning of June and weather here is unpredictable most of the time. We have definitely made it a point to enjoy the sun when its available. Still no luck on steady work for Jamie though he has been keeping busy with odd jobs and work around the house. He had a couple of prospects this last week that looked promising but then fell through so that was a bit of a bummer. He has enough to keep busy and keep money coming in, but I know that the sooner work gets steady the better so keep hoping!
