Let the packing begin

Only 3 days left until I am on a plane and on my way to meet my husband in Phoenix for a two week Christmas vacation!! Two weeks is a blessing when you are used to only seeing each other for about 5 days each month and I can't wait! We will be spending 2 days in Phoenix before heading to my sisters house on Christmas Eve and staying with her family for about 4 days, when we will continue our stay in Arizona by spending the last 2 days of that week in Williams and making a trip to the Grand Canyon. We will go from Williams to Las Vegas for the week of New Years. Dinner and show date nights have been set and it will definitely be a vacation to remember. I can't wait to see my nephews and spend quality time with them. They are growing so fast and it will be nice to see them again and I know that they are excited to see me too, as it has been reported that Evan is convinced I am actually flying the plane to see him and has asked why I am not under the Christmas tree yet. I am excited to have two weeks away from work and not have to work with kids during my vacation. It has been a LONG time since I have had an actual Christmas vacation and they seem to understand that when I tell them that is the reason I will not be picking them up during the break. Even though those areas have received snow lately it will be nice to be in an area where it will be less likely for the temperatures to be in single digits or -20 below. I will take weather in the 30s any day of the week.
I have been offered the position as special education assistant at the elementary school and in the classroom I am already working in and will be officially starting that position on January 13th. It will be a transition in the respect that I will no longer be working with kids in my off time and will probably need to find a summer job since my summers are unpaid, but my responsibilities shouldn't change very much as I have already been doing a lot of the TA responsibilities this year. I am hoping that it will also provide me more advancement opportunities and the ability to go where I want to go.
More to come after the New Year. Happy Holidays everyone!!
