Hope everyone had a great Halloween! Ours was uneventful since we don't have kids to take trick-or-treating and I didn't give out candy this year. Jamie has pretty firm ideas against the observation of Halloween which I respect and understand but am thinking that maybe if he isn't home during that time next year that I might give out candy if I can find large bags for cheap.
Well after mechanical problems and a seven hour flight delay, Jamie made it home at 10pm on Monday night and I dropped him and Nathan off at the airport last night to head back to Utah. So we have survived the ins and outs of the first hitch. I was glad to have him home for that week but it definitely went by WAY too quickly and I cant wait until the end of November when I get to see him again. These next three weeks will be his three week trial were he will actually be going out into the field and getting some practical job experience instead of sitting in classes all day and he is looking forward to that. I must out it out there though that I truly have the most thoughtful husband. He was nice enough to make two batches of chicken noodle soup and beef stew that we were able to freeze and I can eat them on days when I come home and don't feel like cooking. I know it will be greatly appreciated on these upcoming cold winter evenings. We were also able to put some final details on our Christmas vacation which was nice and I will be calling/emailing people soon with details. The job at the school still has not been posted and, due to my rush to send in the application for school in the spring, I didn't take as much time as I should have to perfect my personal statement and therefore was not accepted for the spring. I plan on applying again in April for the summer term since I was told that the only thing that hindered my acceptance was the quality of my personal statement. I have began running at the indoor track two days a week with Rydeen and have been making some good progress. I am hoping that alternating days of running and the gym will help me to overcome this weight-loss plateau I have hit over the last few months. I haven't gained any weight though so I guess I can't complain too much. It is nice to finally have someone to work out with though. At the start of next year I will become in charge of creating the phone directory at church and also the bulletin secretary which means I am responsible for typing up, formatting, and supplying the bulletin at church every week. Sounds easy enough and it will give me something to do in my spare time during the week.
The rest of today will be and has been spent cleaning and organizing the house (it feels like more of a mess accumulated since Jamie was home and although I know this probably isn't true I am seeing and realizing that there is a HUGE difference between one person and two people living in the same space!), as well as catching up on some much needed emails and communication with others. It gets pretty boring and lonely around here sometimes so don't be surprised to receive a random phone call!
